Preparing Ecommerce Website Content
An ecommerce website is a form of content-heavy website which allows accepting payments online through payment providers. Creating content for online shops require you to put more effort and time since you need to consider page data, SEO data, product data, etc.
Getting category and product data ready
We want you to prepare a simple Excel file which includes all product data such as product image, variants, SKU, product name, product description, price, etc. You can prepare an Excel document similar to shared below or download our template and fill with your data.
The important part here is categorizing the data needed to let us understand and sync all of your products, upload them and complete design on site without wasting hours of worktime.

You can also upload products to your online store on your own using the template we provided.
The file you will prepare for product data should include the following columns:
Product name
Product image
Product description
Product category
Product price
(Optional) Product variant name and price difference
Product options (colors, sizes, etc.)
Discount value
(Optional) SEO title and description
If you are planning to sell more than 15-20 products, you will be shared another document to fill with data.
Also, you should create a new sheet for category page data, which include the following columns:
Category name
Category description
Category image
Once both category and product data are ready to go, move them into the main content folder.
If you own a digital product catalog which allows us to collect product data directly through it, you can transfer that catalog via WeTransfer.
Product names, product descriptions, category names, category descriptions should be SEO-friendly but if you haven't heard the term SEO until today, learn more about writing SEO-friendly product titles and descriptions.
Taking product photos and videos
Taking product photos might be a bit of challenging if you are not geared up with the right equipments and apps but we only want you to prepare photos that look well on screens, reflect your brand and let customers to pay for it.
Photos that will be used anywhere on the site should be fit well into the space left to place those images. If there are vertical spaces, you should take your photos with 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, or if there are square-like spaces, photos should be in 1:1 ratio.
Even though we generally work with the following ratios, you may be requested to take and send photos in different file types and formats.
In horizontal-like regions: 1920x1080 - 16:9 or 3:4
In vertical-like regions: 1080x1920 - 9:16 or 4:3
In square-like regions: 1080x1080 - 1:1
You can also include a short video of your product as separate files in order for visitors to know how your product is working. The same rules are applied to video records too.
Also, keep in mind that there should be at least two original photos for each product. One for the main photo and the second one for zoomed version on different angle.
